I learned that morning that dignity can look ridiculous.
Sometimes it wears oversized sleeves and bright colors.
Sometimes it carries a red nose down an aisle.
Sometimes it says nothing while the person who tried to humiliate you exposes herself.
And sometimes the strongest thing you can do when someone hands you their idea of shame is wear it straight toward the life they were trying to take from you.
